Experience Level Information
Novice
Choose this if:
- First time on a track (or 0–4 track days total)
- Little/no experience with track lines, braking zones, point-by passing, or traffic awareness
- Need instruction, lead-follow, or a controlled pace to build skills
- Unsure — default to Novice (safer; can move up after observation)
Intermediate
Choose this if:
- 5–20+ track days (solo-approved, no instructor needed)
- Comfortable with consistent lines, smooth point-by signals, mirrors/checking traffic
- Handle moderate-to-fast pace with other cars safely
- Familiar with Blackhawk Farms or similar tracks
Advanced
- 20–50+ track days (or racing experience/schools)
- Highly proficient: precise control, fast clean laps, excellent awareness in dense traffic
- Significant time at Blackhawk Farms or equivalent tracks
- Won’t hold up faster drivers or need assistance
- Safety first: Err low — organizers can promote you after sessions, but starting too high risks issues.
- Groups focus on experience/awareness/safety, not just lap times.
- Review event passing rules, tech inspection, and schedule.
- Honesty keeps everyone safe and sessions flowing.
